Thursday, April 12, 2012 Quick and Easy Birthday Decorations

I made these birthday decorations for Drew's birthday last week. They were such a fun and festive touch. They work most anywhere -- on a doorknob, hanging from the light above the table, or, for a real surprise, hanging from the rear view mirror of the car the birthday person will be driving that morning! :)

I made two printables, one in blue and the other in red/pink. I like the blue just fine for anyone, but I figure there are some out there who might enjoy the red/pink.
These are very easy to make. Print out a couple of papers of your choice, and a coordinating piece of solid-colored paper is nice, too. Using a compass or circle guide, draw circles on the back of the patterned paper, always making 2 of each size. Glue the circles together with a ribbon in between, then glue the birthday wishes on front. Make small circles for accent and play around with sometimes having extra ribbon come out the bottom of the circle, or a big and small circle on the same ribbon. Hang 'em up, and you're ready for cake and ice cream!
P.S. The papers I used are Simple Circles, Hole Punch in orange, and Confetti 2. The solid yellow is construction paper.
