Bottle Paper in Progress

Working on Vintage Bottle Paper for this week's digital paper, but am happy to report that in the meantime, I think I finally learned how to use my camera! This morning I took a picture of the bottles I am using for the paper, and I was actually in control of the color and light in the image. Huzzah!

Does anyone have any suggestions on the compostiion of this image? Do you think I should have cropped in closer? Made it a square? Always trying to get a better feel for these things.

Also, which do you think is the stronger composition? The one I put first, or this next one, where the stuff laying around my studio is visible? If the second is stronger, is it because of the stuff, or some other reason?

More on the paper soon.

The first composition divides the attention between the vintage bottles and the window. (It's a beautiful window!)
I like the composition of the 2nd picture. To focus on the vintage bottles, I would remove everything else off the table. Your lighting is great on the 2nd composition. I also would crop 1/2" from the right side (the wall) similar to the 1st composition.

Thanks! This is great advice. I always have such a hard time with composition.
