Studio Shed at Dusk

It can be idyllic. Life on the mountain. Tim built this backyard studio shed for me last summer; this is the home of Cute and Useful. He put in path lighting for the studio over the weekend.

Should you wish to have a shed like this for your very own, I can tell you it is a doable project. Tim built it himself from the ground up. True, he knows what he is doing, but perhaps you know or can find a man who knows what he is doing, too. The shed is built off the ground on a platform like you would use for a deck. The rocks at the "foundation" are there for show -- they really aren't holding it up. The white windows came from the Habitat Restore in Manassas, the red windows and door are salvage from the Old Lucketts Store. The siding is pre-painted Hardie Board. Inside it is divided into two spaces; one space has a big art table (that Tim also made) and the other built-in shelves and a desk for my computer. The wall dividing the two spaces holds up a storage loft.

Sometime I'll put up some interior pics, too...but for now, goodnight.
