Friday, July 6, 2012 Love One Another Treat Bags
Visiting teaching is something I and my fellow Mormons do (or try to do) each month. It's an easy thing, so I don't know why it's so hard sometimes -- all you do is go and visit a few of the ladies in your church once a month. Sometimes it's nice to take a little gift, so I've decided to post a new visiting teaching gift each month.
I went over to lds.org, found out what the visiting teaching message is for this month, thought a minute, and ended up with these Love One Another Treat Bags.
Anyhow, I've made the Template and tags, and you can download and print paper of your choice from the sidebar (the colors of the tags work well with the papers in the collection with the goldfish).

- Select and print papers, print and cut out template and tags
- Trace the template onto the back of your patterned paper. Use a straight edge to mark the location of the accordion folds for the sides of the bag.
- Fold and glue. Trim the top with decorative scissors, use a large punch or scissors to cut a half-circle on the top.
- Fill with treats. A pack of gum fits nicely, or a handful of candies.
- Fold a tag in half and nestle it in the half circle, glue the tag to both sides of the bag.
Each takes about 15 minutes. I think these would also be cute as treat bags for a child's party (especially using the confetti paper or rocket paper). Have fun!
Oh, hey -- I just saw that someone pinned this to a board for wedding D.I.Y. -- hadn't thought of that!

Thank you so much for the helpful goodie bags. they are perfect for this months message and I found the template and instructions so easy! I've just made 3 bags for my homes in about 15 minutes and they've turned out great! I admire mothers like you! so creative and talented. thank you for allowing us to use your creations.
Hello Jazzman,
Thanks for the compliments! I'm really glad they're useful for you. You've set a new treat-bag assembly record. That's fast! :)
Thank you so much for sharing! My son really loves Japanese koi fish. He's on a ship in the Navy. I will use your paper to make a cute card to send to him!
Hi Sheryl,
Out at sea and not enough fish? ;)
It just makes me glad all over to know the paper will make him happy.
Thanks, and all the best to you.
