Printable Wedding "Faux" Foam Fingers

One of my Etsy customers asked me to make these for a wedding.

I've had customers for the foam finger party pack ask me about real foam fingers (my party pack is miniature printable foam fingers, cupcake toppers and the like) but I couldn't come up with any good way to do it. Custom on foam, it seems all start with a quantity of at least 100.  I spent a whole morning trying to come up with a way around it. When I stopped fixating on the material, I came up with these. They are not foam, they are faux foam(!) Ha, ha.

These are big (about 14 inches tall), you wear them over your hand just like a real foam finger, and they are completely recyclable when the party is over.

Making them is easy -- I send you the PDF, and you get them printed at a print shop on 11x17 paper. As many or as few as you need. Cut 'em out, glue the front and back together, and you're #1!

Check out my shop for the listing :)

Spelling Bee Printable Award Certificates

I've made another set of printable award certificates, this time for a spelling bee. I've got a freebee particiaption award for you here (get it? free bee?) and a larger set that inlcudes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention awards in my shop.

Instructions to get the particiapation award:

  1. Download the printable here
  2. Open it in Adobe Reader
  3. Click and fill your info into the light blue fields (The light blue will not show when you print)
  4. Print right from Adobe Reader

Very quick, very easy.

The certificate package with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention awards also has 36 particiapation awards so you can go through and put in a whole group of names at the same time.

I hope you like these awards, and have a great weekend!

Powderpuff Derby Printable

Over the weekend, I made Powder Puff Derby Style Awards (these have been a big hit with Pinewood Derby, it's really fun to look at all the cars and make the awards) and as with the Pinewood Derby awards, I like to include a free download for participation awards here on Cute & Useful. These are printable certificates.

The participation awards read "The Cute Car Award" and you can customize the certificates with your troop number and the date of your event. The certificates are a PDF with fillable fields, so you open them in Adobe Reader, fill in your info and print right from Adobe Reader. (The purple text-field indicators don't show when you print). It's an easy thing.

I've designed these with a lot of white space to save your ink! (Also, I hope you think they're cute!)

For a set of 26 Powder Puff Derby Style Awards -- each says something unique like -- "The Flower Power Award," "The Sparkle Award," "The Most Imaginative Award," click here.

I've also made a set of coordinating 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards, and pit passes.

I'm curious to see how popular these will be; someone asked me for them specifically -- a sure sign of usefulness -- but my three listings on Etsy for Power Puff Derby are the only three things on Etsy for the Derby...at all. What do you think? Is Powder Puff Derby a pretty big thing?

I've Been Absent

I only like to post happy things here on my blog, but I can't explain why I've been gone without mentioning something sad...my dear Aunt Helen passed away earlier this week. She was 92 and I miss her. She never married, was only 4 foot 10, had lots of friends, and always had a clever thing to say. (Everyone waited on her while she was sick. She said "I feel like a queen!" One of the nurses asked "Where's your crown?" She said, "I sat on it.")

Her favorite color was lavender, so that's why I chose lavender flowers for this post.

I'll be back at the beginning of April with new Pinewood Derby Style Awards, Powder Puff Derby Style Awards, a DIY for polymer clay ombre initial necklaces (initial, as in the the first letter of your name), and a few other things I haven't thought of yet. Until then, Happy Easter, Happy Spring, and all the best to you!

Oh, My! This Is Adorable.

I don't normally post party ideas on here (as other blogs cover the topic so well), but I just can't resist...a dumpling baby shower! For the precious little dumpling! I can't stand it! So cute! Aaaaaaaagh!!!!!

And this, my gosh, little dumpling favors made from felt and held together with staples. They look so real! I'd of surely tried thread or something, this is such a simple solution. Never thought of staples.

All Images from The Indigo Bunting... am in love with every detail.
