10 Easy -Yet Thoughtful! - Valentines

Valentine' day is tomorrow...last minute? Don't fret. Here are 10 cute and easy ideas for Valentine's Day. (Most of these I thought of with our loving husbands in mind).

1. Have an iPhone or similar alarm clock? Set it to play "your song" in the morning instead of the normal alarm.

2. Does your husband lay out his clothes at night, or while he's in the shower? Does he wear the same pants the next day as the day before? Stuff his pockets with paper cut-out hearts.

3. Draw a simple heart with an arrow through it, put his name on the heart. Cut it out and tape it to the computer.

4. Draw a red heart with crayon on his glass of orange juice.

5. Cut out a heart, punch a hole in it, tie a string through the hole, hang it from the ignition in his car, write on the heart, "You've got my heart on a string."

6. Cut out a heart, tape it on the dash of the car or similar, write on the heart, "Stuck On You."

7. Cut out a heart, punch hole, string, tie on his key chain. Write "You've got the keys to my heart." (Or, do all three. As you can see, there's a theme...)

8. Make him this printable valentine card. Put it on the table in the morning with his breakfast, or on the kitchen counter by the bagels, wherever.

9. Text him 100 emoji hearts, all on the same text, while he's at work.

10. Find a midi file online of a love song. (Midi files sound like karaoke. Just google midi and a song name, you'll find something, I promise.) Play the midi file on the computer and sing (at least part of) the song. Record the whole thing using your iPhone. The "voice memos" app that comes with the iPhone is perfect for this, and you can send it as an email or message right from the app. Don't worry about your singing; the worse, the better.

So there we are. 10 little ideas for Valentines day. Are some of them corny? Yeah, but who cares? This is valentines day!

Happy Valentines Day, all.

Pinewood Derby Pit Passes

Another addition to the Pinewood Derby Awards, Pit Passes, suggested by a customer who bought the style awards. Great idea to keep the race going and organized. We haven't had our Pinewood Derby yet for my pack (late!) so we'll use these this year.

They're printables, and you can customize them with the date of your race (the purple fields don't print, it's just to show where to click and type). They're in my shop.

That's all for today...happy Monday!

Finished Illustrations for the LDS Home Educator's Conference

I realized the other day, I never collected the finished illustrations for the Latter-Day Saints Home Educators Conference

A little background, the owls and the iPhone are for the youth -- high-school age, maybe Jr. High kids. A group of kids out here collaborated and chose the themes for their parts of the conference; "Heaven Calls Youth to Awake, Arise, Shake of the Chains of the World!" (Hence, the iPhone) and "Stand Up, Stand Out, Be Yourself."

"Joy in the Journey" is the theme for this year's conference as a whole; "All Hands On Deck," and "Forward With Faith," are workshops for parents. The conference is May 30-31 at Southern Virgina University.

Free Foam Finger Cupcake Toppers

I guess I'm on a foam finger roll, after making these, twice, for the Super Bowl. (I was a little confused about who was playing, but never mind...)

I made 14 different colors, plus a rainbow page (really rolling). They do look adorable on a cupcake, or as decoration on a scrapbook page. All the PDF printables are linked up in the following...

Another reason I've got Foam Fingers on my mind -- I've been making new photos for my Etsy shop; sprucing up the appearance of my Foam Finger Party Pack. (Whadaya think? did I do good?)

The party pack is different from the ones I just made because I customize everything -- whatever colors, whatever phrases you like. They've been popular for first birthdays.

Get ready to celebrate! You're #1!

Super Bowl 2013 Free Printable Cupcake Toppers

Here they are, foam finger cupcake toppers for this year's super bowl (with the right teams this time. Visitors to my blog eariler this weekend will know I thought the Saints were in the Super Bowl). I nowhere near had time to make cupcakes today and take a picture (I guess I nowhere near had time to google who was playing), but they look darn cute on top of a cupcake. Trust me.

I'm not rooting for either team, although I will say I dislike very much that the present-day Ravens snuck out of Cleveland once upon a time. My husband is a Steelers fan, and he doesn't care for the Ravens much.

I used the official color numbers for each team, so the colors should be good!

I'm off to the Army this weekend, and editing this post from the pool this evening (my son is in a swim meet). We're getting released from Army duty a little early on Sunday, so maybe I'll have time to make cupcakes then (That didn't happen, but I did have time to come home and make toppers for San Francisco).

Enjoy the game, and the commercials, and have a great weekend! :)
